The deal, in plain words.
This is the agreement between you and us when you buy the Lagoon Claude course. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, ask before you buy and we will answer in writing.
Version 1.0 · last updated 30 September 2026 · applies to purchases made from this date
1 · Who you are buying from
Lagoon Academy is run by [LEGAL NAME], registered in [COUNTRY] under registration number [REGISTRATION NUMBER], at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. It is one person, not a company with a support department. That is the point of the contact page.
Payment is handled by [MERCHANT OF RECORD], of [MOR REGISTERED ADDRESS]. They act as the merchant of record: legally, they are the seller for the transaction. They take your money, work out any tax, issue the invoice and process refunds. We decide what you get access to and when. Both sets of terms apply — theirs to the payment, ours to the course.
Getting in touch
Everything goes to one inbox: hello@lagoon.academy. Reply times and what to include are on the contact page.
2 · What you get when you buy
A one-off payment for the Lagoon Claude course. It gives you a personal account with access to:
- The written lessons of the course, as listed on the curriculum page at the time you buy.
- The prompt library, the everyday-solutions library, the cheat sheets and the 30-day workbook.
- The module checks and the final test, and a certificate if you pass it. See section 4.
- Updates to the course for 12 months from your purchase date.
"Lifetime access" — what that actually means
It means for as long as we run this platform, with no repeat payment and no expiry date on your account. Nobody can honestly promise a website will exist forever, so here is the commitment instead: if we ever shut Lagoon Academy down, you get at least 60 days' notice by email and a downloadable copy of every lesson you paid for, before access ends.
The course is delivered immediately
Access opens as soon as the payment clears. There is no shipping, no waiting list and no scheduled start date.
3 · What this course is not
The clearest way to avoid a disappointed buyer is to say the limits out loud.
- It is not a qualification. No university, professional body or regulator recognises it.
- It is not an Anthropic product, course or credential. See section 11.
- It does not teach programming, model training or API development. One module uses a paid image API through a small script Claude writes for you; that is as technical as it gets.
- It does not include a Claude subscription. You bring your own account. Some lessons work on the free plan, some are better on a paid one, and the plan-dependency table in the course says which is which.
- It is not a promise about your results. We describe what the method does and how long lessons take. What you get out of it depends on your work, your job and how much of it you actually delegate.
- It is not advice. Nothing in the course is legal, financial, medical or tax advice, and Claude's output is not either.
Claude changes, and so will the course
The lessons were written against Claude as it behaved in September 2026. Anthropic ships changes we do not control. Where a lesson depends on a feature that may move, it says so, and section 10 covers how we keep it current.
4 · The certificate
If you finish the lessons and pass the final test, we issue a certificate with your name, the course, the date and an ID that can be checked on our verification page.
- We issue it ourselves. Nobody accredits it, and we do not claim otherwise.
- It records one thing honestly: that you completed this course and passed its test.
- The name on it is the name on your account. Get it right before you request the certificate — we will correct a genuine mistake, we will not issue one in somebody else's name.
- It is revoked, and its verification page will say so, if the purchase is refunded or charged back, or if the account was shared or the test was completed by someone else.
5 · Price, tax and payment
The price that counts is the one shown on the checkout page before you confirm, in the currency shown there. Prices on this site are quoted in US dollars.
VAT, GST and sales tax
Tax is worked out and collected by [MERCHANT OF RECORD] based on the country you are buying from, and added on top of the listed price where the law requires it. You see the exact amount before you pay, and it appears on the invoice they email you. We never calculate, hold or remit tax ourselves.
Buying for a business with a valid VAT or GST number? Enter it at checkout and [MERCHANT OF RECORD] applies the correct treatment for your country. We cannot add it to an invoice afterwards, so enter it before you pay.
The invoice
The invoice comes from [MERCHANT OF RECORD], not from us, and it is the legal document for your records. If it has not arrived within an hour, check your spam folder, then email us and we will chase it.
Price changes
We can change the price of the course at any time. A change never affects a purchase already made — what you paid is what you paid, and your access does not shrink because the price later moved.
6 · Changing your mind
Fourteen days, full refund, no reason needed. Email hello@lagoon.academy from the address you bought with and say you want a refund. The refund policy has the exact steps, the timing and what happens to your access.
Your statutory right, and why we go further
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. Digital content is an exception: by asking for immediate access at checkout you agree the download starts straight away and you accept that the statutory withdrawal right ends once it does. That is why the checkbox exists at checkout.
Our 14-day money-back guarantee is a separate, voluntary promise that sits on top of it, and it is more generous — it applies whether or not you have opened the lessons, and you do not have to give a reason. So the exception never leaves you worse off.
None of this removes rights you have under your own country's consumer law, including the right to a remedy if what we sold you is faulty or not as described.
7 · Your account
- One account, one person. The course is licensed to you, not to your team, your class or your company. Team purchases are possible — email us rather than sharing a login.
- Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access.
- Give us a working email. It is how you log back in, reset a password and receive your invoice. A mistyped address is the most common way people lose access, and it is the hardest one for us to fix.
- You must be 16 or older to buy and to hold an account.
- You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by email. What is deleted and what we must keep is set out in the privacy notice.
We can suspend or close an account that is sharing access, reselling the material, attacking the platform or abusing other members. Where the closure is our decision and you have not broken these terms, we refund the unused part of what you paid.
8 · What you may and may not do with the material
Yes
- Use every prompt, template, checklist and workbook page in your own work, including paid client work, with no attribution and no extra licence.
- Adapt them, rename them, put them in your company's internal documentation.
- Quote a short passage with a link back, the way you would quote any article.
- Keep anything you downloaded, even if you later refund or close your account.
No
- Sharing your login, or giving another person access to the lessons.
- Republishing, reselling or redistributing the lessons, the videos or the images — free or paid, whole or in part.
- Using the course material to build or run a competing course.
- Bulk-downloading, scraping or automated copying of the platform.
- Using the material to train a machine-learning model.
The lessons, illustrations, videos and the Professor character stay ours. What you buy is a personal, non-transferable licence to use them, not ownership of them.
9 · If you subscribe to Lagoon Circle
Circle is a separate, optional monthly subscription. Buying the course does not subscribe you to anything, and you never need it to use the course you paid for.
- It renews monthly on the date you started, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from your account or by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for — you keep access until then, and we do not bill again.
- Cancelling Circle never touches your course access. The course is yours either way.
- The 14-day money-back guarantee covers the first payment. Later months are not refunded, because you can cancel before each one.
- If we change the price, you get at least 30 days' notice by email before the first payment at the new price, and you can cancel in that window.
10 · Updates, changes and what happens if we stop
Updates
You get updates to the course for 12 months from your purchase date, at no extra cost. That covers corrections, rewrites when Claude changes and new material added to the modules you bought. Every lesson carries the date it was last checked, and what changed is listed in the changelog at [CHANGELOG URL].
After 12 months your access continues. New material added later may not be included, and if it is not, we will say so on the page selling it.
Changes to the course
We can reorganise, replace or retire lessons as Claude changes. What we will not do is quietly reduce what you bought: if a module named on the curriculum page when you purchased is removed and not replaced with something equivalent, email us and we will refund a fair share of the price, even if you are long past 14 days.
If we stop
Section 2 covers it: at least 60 days' notice and a downloadable copy of the lessons you paid for.
11 · Independence and trademarks
Lagoon Academy is an independent course. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or certified by Anthropic PBC. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Cursor, n8n, Make, Zapier, Notion and ElevenLabs are trademarks of their respective owners, used on this site only to name the tools we talk about.
We teach Claude because we think it is the best tool for this work. Nobody pays us to say that, and we are not an affiliate of any tool named in the course. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the page where it matters.
12 · If something goes wrong
We will do the work properly and fix mistakes when you point them out. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows:
- Our total liability to you for anything connected to the course is limited to the amount you paid for it.
- We are not liable for what you or Claude produce using what you learned here, or for decisions you take on the strength of it. The course tells you repeatedly to check the output; that instruction is part of the product.
- We are not liable for what a third-party tool does — Anthropic, an image API, your email provider — or for their pricing, availability or changes.
- We do not promise the platform is available without interruption. We do promise to bring it back and to tell you what happened.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights stand whatever this section says.
13 · Law, and your local rights
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY]. If you are a consumer, that choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in your own country's courts.
Consumers in the EU and the UK can also take a dispute to their national consumer body or alternative dispute resolution scheme. We would rather you emailed us first: almost every dispute we have seen in this business is a misunderstanding that one honest reply solves.
Payment disputes are handled by [MERCHANT OF RECORD] as merchant of record, through [MOR BUYER SUPPORT URL].
14 · Changes to these terms
We can update these terms. The version and date at the top of the page always tell you which set you are reading, and the previous versions stay available on request.
A change never applies backwards to a purchase you already made. If a change would materially reduce what an existing customer gets, we email the customers it affects before it takes effect.
